I found this little ditty on Robert Benson's blog. Love it and I would say it's pretty true. I tried to figure out where I fit on the graph.... Funny, when you finally start to understand what it takes to make a good image you start to realize how bad you suck....
Baby Photography: Boston
This little guy is Boston Park and he is so stinkin' perfect. I had so much fun photographing Lindsay and Dallan's baby boy. Lindsay is such a gentle and caring mom and it really shows in her photos. Not only did I get to photograph a little cutie, but I got to hang out with my long time friend, Lindsay. Lindsay and I go back to the good old high school days and then college. Oh how I miss our old shenanigans. :) Speaking of which this year is our high school reunion. Man! I am so freakin' old and I don't even feel like it. I feel more like a little kid now than I did then.
Utah newborn photography: Bailey
So here are a couple of my favorites from my first baby photo session. I guess I like feet.... Or maybe it's the pink toe nail polish. Anyways little Bailey was such a delight to photograph and I learned so much! Sleepy baby is an easy baby. Thank heavens for the pink binky.... Luckily she was super easy, sweet and sleepy! :) I also had the opportunity to try out a macro lens. It took me a while to get comfortable with focusing but I eventually figured it out.
More baby pictures to come of baby Boston.

Photos in the Snow glorious Snow!
So it's April and it is still snowing! Grrr. But I kinda like the few flakes that show up in these photos.
I took Sydney and her "chute" friend to the park. It was only a matter of minutes before it was a blizzard and we had to book it back to the car.
Oh I took these with my new 85mm lens. And I'm thinking it's pretty cool. But I definitely can see why someone would want a 50mm. Hmmm maybe my next investment....
When Sydney Smiles
It's pretty hard to get a photo of Squidney looking at me and smiling at the same time. Usually I just get a half dazed look or scowl that clearly states her disdain for me and my camera. (See previous posts here and here) I don't blame her. I don't like getting my picture taken either. That's why I'm behind the camera. Bwahahahaha!
But here's to stealing one of her!
St Patrick's Day
Meh. I have no idea what to say about my photos..... Not much of a writer so here are a couple photos that I took as I was trying to kill time, while I waited for my new tires to get put on my car. It was St Patrick's day and Sydney is dressed for the occassion. (yeah it took me that long to post these. hehe)
Have you seen all the beautiful new products & contest for pro photographers on http://www.DesignAglow.com?
I am loving on this Epiphanie bag that DesignAglowblog.com is giving away. I am so in need of a camera bag. Right now I am using a canvas bag that I just throw everything in and hope that I don't bang it against something as I turn around.... this would be perfect and it super cute too. I love that someone had the brilliant idea to make stylish camera bags for girls. I don't have to look like a nerd with a big bulky canon bag.
Baby Photography
YAY! YAY! YAY!
I have two baby photo sessions this weekend! I am so excited! And freaked out!
I love babies and I can't wait to photograph them! However, I'm nervous that what I have in mind for these photos is different from what the parents have in mind... I'm also nervous because I've heard so many people say that babies are really hard to photograph... Is there something that I'm not considering?

Jesh De Rox - Beloved
While in Las Vegas this month, attending WPPI, I had the opportunity to attend a presentation given by Jesh De Rox. Before WPPI, I came across his website and went back again... and again. At his presentation he announced, for the first time, a new project - "Beloved." (new to us not so new to him) He has been working on it for, I think, the past two years. Not only is he hilarious, he is also a very inspiring person and his presentation was inspiring as well. I learned that the most important factor of a great portrait is capturing truth, to capture the authenticity and depth of the subject you are photographing. To get my subjects to be genuine and authentic I must be as well. He is all about connecting with the people you photograph and create intimate photos that capture real and genuine connection between a couple. I love this approach and I will definitely have to go to one of his workshops, Life {as an Art Form}one of these days. I love his philosophy in spreading the love. And his photos are amazing! Oh here is a link to his awesome blog.
Susan Burnstine
I listened to a podcast the other day with Susan Burnstine. Her photos are so beautiful and eerie. The coolest part is she makes all of her cameras. I'm not sure how she does it or if it's anything like a pinhole camera. But it takes me back to my pinhole camera days. I was so in love with my pinhole camera! But this is a photo from her homemade camera. Oh and she names her cameras after musicians. How cool is that?!
