While in Las Vegas this month, attending WPPI, I had the opportunity to attend a presentation given by Jesh De Rox. Before WPPI, I came across his website and went back again... and again. At his presentation he announced, for the first time, a new project - "Beloved." (new to us not so new to him) He has been working on it for, I think, the past two years. Not only is he hilarious, he is also a very inspiring person and his presentation was inspiring as well. I learned that the most important factor of a great portrait is capturing truth, to capture the authenticity and depth of the subject you are photographing. To get my subjects to be genuine and authentic I must be as well. He is all about connecting with the people you photograph and create intimate photos that capture real and genuine connection between a couple. I love this approach and I will definitely have to go to one of his workshops, Life {as an Art Form}one of these days. I love his philosophy in spreading the love. And his photos are amazing! Oh here is a link to his awesome blog.
